Panasonic SD-YD250 Breadmaker Review
Rating:

Sitting just below the top end of the market, this Panasonic breadmaker offers a surprising number of features for it’s price tag.
The Panasonic SD-YD250 bakes bread in 3 loaf sizes (medium, large & extra large) up to 2 ½ pounds and in many different varieties including white, multi-grain, whole-wheat and French.
The easy to use LCD control panel offers a myriad of baking settings including rapid bake, raisin, sandwich and pizza or raisin dough.
Capable of mixing, kneading, rising and baking automatically, this panasonic breadmaker also has a generous 13 hour preset, which means you can have a fresh loaf of bread ready and waiting each morning. Given that most people will want to use this feature overnight, a noisy breadmaker can be very inconvenient but the SDYD250 has whisper quiet operation.
The original upright design of the SD-YD250 means that the unit sits neatly and conveniently on the counter top, but it also produces horizontal loaves, which means the bread comes out looking like the fresh loaves you’d find at the bakery or in your local supermarket aisle. I really like this particular style of loaf as it makes cutting the bread for sandwiches or toast a lot a easier.
Inside this Panasonic breadmaker you’ll find a removeable non-stick pan that is surprisingly easy to clean. The non-stick coating used on it seems to work a treat just by quickly rinsing under hot water. The kneading paddles are extremely high quality and durable, but best of all they don’t leave an obscenely large hole in the bottom of a loaf, which is something I really dislike in a breadmaker.
The quality of baking is another strong suit of the SDYD250. Often with a lot of breadmakers out there you’ll find some degree of streaking with the texture of the bread but this is not the case with this particular bread machine. Loaf after loaf comes out looking and tasting great.
The most impressive thing about the Panasonic SD-YD250 is how easy it is to use. The automatic yeast and ingredient dispenser means that the machine will automatically add yeast or other ingredients in for you at the correct time of the cycle, so there’s no need to wait around to manually add things in between. It truly is a set and forget process.
The only real downfall of mention is probably the absence of a viewing window, but given how well this machine produces quality loaves of bread, you won’t need to keep an eye on it anyway.

Highly Recommended.

I love the panasonic breadmaker. This one is our 3rd and it makes the best bread by far. I don’t really care about it not having a viewing window, as I find they tend to get very clouded and difficult to see through after a lot of use anyway.
